IMPORTANT

FLOODING IN FRANKLIN, INDIANA

On a serious note, I have been very upset about the flooding in Franklin.  Mister Lobo and I  were in Franklin last year for the B-Movie Celebration.  Upon arriving it looked like one of those small towns that only exist in the movies.  Now, being that I'm The Queen of Trash, and quite prone to walking around in public in nothing but my corset and underwear, I was honestly expecting the angry mob to attack at any moment--but it never happened. In fact, something far stranger happened. They loved me! Walking around Franklin on a Sunday morning, the old folks coming home from church waved and said "hello" and that they hoped that the festival was enjoyable. Almost anywhere else in the United States, I would be getting nasty glares, car  horns honking, or perhaps even a piping hot cup of Starbucks to the noggin!  They smiled and waved and as I got to know them, made me feel like I was part of the family.  It boggled me to think that there was so much love and closeness in this community.  If it weren't for the Cicadas (I'm terrified of bugs), I would have already packed up my things and settled there. Now with the flooding, the town has been torn apart. They are bravely pulling together as the strong community that they are, but they need help. At the The B Movie Celebration this year, I will be donating many items to a silent auction, including a one of  a kind, never to be made again,  life cast of my bust!  In the meantime, if you have anything that you can spare,  I am asking you to please donate to the relief fund..

You can also donate  to the Johnson County flood relief through Interchurch Food Pantry:

830 Overstreet St, Franklin, IN 46131 -   Phone: (317) 736-5090

The pantry has listed the following items it needs:

Office supplies: Name tags, clipboards, pens, pads of paper, and Lexmark #32 black ink cartridges (#28, #29).

Cleaning supplies: Bleach, laundry detergent, brooms, mops, buckets, rags, gloves, disinfectant.

Toiletries: Soap, shampoo, toothpaste, combs, brushes, toilet paper, deodorant.

Thank you so much for any help that you can give!

THE AMAZING COLOSSAL ART SHOW!

To further help with donations, The Q-o-T has rallied her artsy-type pals in Sacramento and elsewhere to donate artwork for: The AMAZING COLOSSAL ART SHOW ! It is a "B-Movie"-themed art sale to benefit the flood victims in Franklin, IN, home of the Midwest's annual "B-Movie Celebration." The event will be hosted by myself, with an appearance by Mister Lobo!

Just think: rubber monsters, zombies, go-go girls, Mexican wrestlers, space girls in silver bikinis, paper plate saucers, giant robots, brains in jars, kung fu masters, death cars radioactive insects and, of course, amazing colossal people!

Here's the best part: ALL of the pieces will be very affordable (most under $100) and the majority will be $50 and under! The very air will abound with one of a kind, art, jewelry and trinkets that won't put a dent in your wallet!

WE STILL NEED DONATIONS! There is still plenty of room for more art donations, so if you're interested, please e-mail me  (queen-of-trash@hotmail.com) and let me know. We are also in the market for a couple of sponsors to offset the venue fee and to provide some snackage, so if you know of some folks, please pass it on.

100% of profits will benefit the Johnson County Flood Relief Fund.*

The show will be on Saturday, July 19th, 6pm – 10pm

It will be held at: Vox Gallery Sacramento
Corner of X & 19th
Sacramento, CA  95818

* unsold pieces will be shipped to Franklin, IN to be included in a silent auction in September.

TRAGEDY STRIKES THE HOUSE OF TRASH

On the 23rd of June, my father passed away. For those of you who know me, you know that my mother and brother have already passed. Being so, I am the only local family to him, and will be taking time to help handle his estate. This is the reason for my absence at the Thrillotronic show on the 5th. Please be patient if I cannot respond to messages, or orders right away. I am trying to stay true to my obligations, and I have appreciated all of the support and letters that have come in from friends and fans regarding the recent events.  One of the most touching things that have come my way since the loss of my father came from Franklin Indiana. To give you the short version.. the day of my fathers internment was quite possibly the worst day of my life. Beyond having the reality sink in that he is really gone, there were some unforgivable "problems" with the cremating and treatment of my fathers remains. I got home at the end of the day, feeling the lowest I have ever felt, and checked my e-mail.. This is what was sent to me from a community that has more troubles than I could imagine, and from people who have lost more that I could ever know... It is a picture of the Artcraft Theater in Franklin Indiana.  On the Marquee, they've written "Sara, Our thoughts and Prayers are with you"

My response to Franklin: Your ever-amazing humanity and selflessness, and your loving community is an inspiration to me, and I only hope to be able to cope with my loss with the same love and compassion towards others, as you are using to cope with your own.  Franklin will be in my heart forever.

Psychotronix Film Festival

If you haven't yet seen it, this may be your last chance for awhile since they are remodeling Foothill College!  For over 15 years the KFJC Psychotronix Film Festival
has delivered only the most unintentionally hilarious 1950's commercials and "educational" films, the most bizarre obscure classic cartoons, trailers from the worst movies, the most double-entendre packed Pre-Code shorts, the cheapest international monster movies, the campiest musical shorts, the most surreal silent movie clips and TV programs that should never have aired. Radio personality Rob Emmett of  "The Norman Bates Memorial Soundtrack Show" hosts this fundraiser for KFJC from 7:00 to 11:30 PM at Room 5015 on the Foothill College campus, Los Altos Hills, El Monte exit off of Highway 280. Bring $5 Donation and eight quarters for parking. For more info visit Psychotronic Paul’s Blog.

THE QUEEN'S Music Video work

Two big music videos are going into production this summer. First up is the Fans Of Jimmy Century music Video!  Mr. Lobo and The Queen Of Trash are going to cameo in a artful short musical subject featuring on of our favorite bay area bands who happen to be big fans of Cinema Insomnia. This will be a great warm up for the video for my theme song  by The  Touchy Feelies.

The aluminum can drive and fundraiser  we did in April was a huge success and donations are still rolling in. Big Thanks to Insomniac 657 and John Huff director of the sci-fi cult hit "Cyxork 7" for his generous donation with all the extra zeros!

BATHROOM READING AT IT'S FINEST!

In one week the new SCARS magazine hits the newsstands and finer booksellers across the nation and “guess who” is featured? No I don’t mean George Romero—although he did beat me out for the cover—I mean, Me! Editor Raymond Dowaliby does and in depth interview with yours truly for his sizzling hot horror publication in a 5 page spread that will raise the dead. The article is called “Getting Dirty with The Queen of Trash”. These hot pix that I shot with gore masters Morb-X effects and photographer Mr. Lobo are exclusive to SCARS and you won’t see them anywhere else. Check for SCARS Magazine at your local Barnes and Noble, or Borders books.. OR if you are to lazy (like me) get your copy here!

Also, the most versatile online magazine out of the central coast ACE Magazine has a pictorial and interview by pint sized pin-up Lizzy D. Vine entitled simply the “Queen of Trash”.  Lizzy goes in deep into my origins and motivations and a retrospective of my favorite photo shoots, including “Bride Of Frankenstein”, “Space Girl”, and “Cannibal housewife”. This is also the first publication of a few of my new pix from candy coated lens-mistress Monique Antoinette. This and every issue is jam packed with awesome art, dynamic photography, sexy pin –ups, rockabilly lifestyles, and high octane counterculture. If you’ve never seen ACE Magazine before take her for a spin!

I may have joked about the prospect of leaving California, and ending up in Franklin Indiana, but let me tell you! I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK! The B-Movie Celebration was incredable! I suggest all you die-hard trash fans to start saving your money, because next year will, dare I say it?, be even better!!

Some of the highlights of this year, was it's incredable programing, which featured, just about every B-Movie ever made, and seminars by some Big Wigs, like Jim Wyrnoski, Lloyd Kaufman, Ron Aberdeen, and Tom Savini to name a few.

I got to help present Lloyd Kaufman with a (well deserved) lifetime acheivment award. On stage, Lloyd Kaufman introduced me as "Troma's newest Inspiration" which was an incredable compliment comming from the King of Crap himself! I got to watch Plan 9 with Conrad Brooks. Tom Savini made me squirm by recounting the cockaroach effects for the last story in CREEPSHOW... and after each day was done, I got to party with the WHOLE lot of them!

The world premiere of Poultrygeist was incredable! It's by far the best TROMA film yet, and that is saying something!! Poutrygeist is to Chicken, what Blood Freak was to Turkey! It was horrible, disgusting, depraved filth, and I loved every minute of it!

Support POULTRYGEIST! The Latest Theatrical Release from Troma Entertainment Studios!

Another world premiere I was happy to see was JIm Wynorski's Cry of the Winged Serpent. It was a movie that was made for the Sci Fi Network, but was amazing on the big screen, I was even more impressed by his screening of the 1988 CLASSIC, "Return of the Swamp Thing", which I had no idea Jim Wynorski had done!

This festival was so jam-packed with programing, sometimes there was up to SIX incredable events happening at once!!! Because of that I had to miss out on some screenings that looked very promising! Among those was John Hoffs' "Cyxork 7," "Stomp, Shout Scream," and "Viva."

The town of Franklin, was incredable, and for someone who has traveled to shows all over California, I was thouroughly impressed, this quaint Indiana town completly supported the B-Movie Celebration, The local museum and college donated space, the local businesses all chipped in, and even it's Mayor attended the opening night's Gala! I never expected to get smothered in small town hospitality, but even the Queen of Trash, was treated like family!

Thanks to the Indie Film Co-Op, Bill Dever, Steve "Papaw" Pyatte, and all the rest who made the B-Movie Celebration an UNFORGETTABLE weekend!

August 17-19 th , 2007

Haven't you just been waiting for an excuse to go to Franklin, Indiana and watch some truly awesome movies? Of course you have.  Actually, it turns out there's a great reason to go to this college town south of Indianapolis in August. It's the first annual B-movie celebration, with films so bad they belong in the so-bad-they're good category, like The Terror of Tiny Town and Plan Nine from Outer Space

August 17th thru 19th, The Indy Film Co-op will be hosting The B Movie Celebration. During the Celebration they will screen Fifty B Classics, have a tribute to Troma Studios founder, Lloyd Kaufman, a retrospective of the films of prolific B Director, Jim Wynorski.  The Indy Film Co-op, the hosts of the festival, will also screen ten soon to be classic B films from current B filmmakers

There will be over 20 educational seminars along with Director Bobby Logan’s 1 Day Film School. The Celebration will start with a bang with a B Movie Gala to be held at The Johnson County Museum of History.

In attendance will be B movie legends like Lloyd Kaufman of Troma Studios, Special Effects Wizard Tom Savini, Mr. Lobo, host of Cinema Insomnia, with the always lovely, Queen of Trash. Cult Director Jim Wynorski will be attending . Also appearing will be original Plan Nine from Outer Space cast member Conrad Brooks. The Master of Ceremonies for the entire event will be Brownsburg’s own Steve “Papaw” Pyatte.

B movie Fans…
Indiana wants you!

Check us out in the Sacramento News and Review! They did an article on the Lobotronic Film Show at Willeminas!!

June 9th , 2007

I get lots of emails and messages via myspace from other Plus size ladies wanting advice on how to do a decent photoshoot! I also remember starting out with very little resources to help me. That is why I've written a guide to plus size photography for PS_Pin-up Girls. It's meant as a (incomplete) guide for taking good pin-up photo shoots, with an emphasis, of course, on the needs of the "plush" and the resources of the inexperienced. Check out the Guide on PS Pinup's BLOG and while you are there, make sure to also check out the PS Pinup site and add them as a myspace friend!

I just had the honor and privilege of helping the Psychotronix film show celebrate its 15-year anniversary! What originally started out as a small (one time) event to help raise funds for the awesome, KFJC has grown into one of the best film shows in Northern California! Featuring bizarre clips, weird shorts, scopitones, trailers, vintage commercials and more mind-boggling madness on 16mm! Thanks for 15 years of greatness!! Thank you Rob Emmett, Sci-Fi Bob, Austin Space, Psychotronic Paul, Scott Moon and Irwin Swan! Thank you also to Eric Yee and Mr. Lobo for brining their own brand of fun to the show, and from the bottom of my heart, thank you for letting me be involved! It was a GREAT night!!
